About the Platt Park Neighborhood of Denver
Perhaps one of the most compelling reasons people choose Platt Park is its proximity to downtown Denver. For commuters, it’s a dream come true. They can go to work downtown and then retreat to their community that is anchored by Broadway and the much-revered Old South Pearl Street.
Platt Park is a place where you can come home for the weekend, park your car, and not have to use it again until Monday morning. There are coffee shops, amazing boutiques, a weekend farmer’s market, and one of Denver’s most beloved parks nearby.
Washington Park, or Wash Park as people refer to it affectionately, features basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts, along with a 2.5-mile trail that outdoorsy Platt Park home owners can use for running, walking or biking. There are also two lakes here, so families can come to feed the birds or simply relax on a warm summer day. For bikers, the Platte River bike path is also conveniently located down Mississippi. The long path winds past Elitch Gardens Amusement Park, Empower Field at Mile High, and the REI flagship store. Additionally, there is a connection to the Cherry Creek bike path that will take you to downtown Denver.
Platt Park is bound by Downing, Broadway, Evans and I-25. Many young families are moving to Platt Park because of its charm and convenience. The tight-knit community offers events like the annual Picnic in the Park, Fall Harvest Festival, Winterfest, fundraisers, happy hours, and a Holiday Meet and Greet each year.
On Old South Pearl, the Blues & Brews and Brewgrass Festivals are great to grab a beer and listen to outstanding live music. These much-loved events take place every Memorial and Labor Day weekends. For live music any other day of the week, Platt Park homeowners love Lincoln’s Roadhouse or Herman’s Hideaway.
If you’re looking for a neighborhood that is never short on things to do, consider a Platt Park home.
