About the Washington Park Neighborhood of Denver
The neighborhood envelops the park, making it a wonderful place for outdoors enthusiasts who require modern conveniences but still want to be near nature. Known casually as “Wash Park,” there are several trails, including one that follows the perimeter of the park. Additionally, Washington Park homeowners can take advantage of lawn bowling and croquet fields, tennis courts, a rec center with an indoor pool, gym, and two playgrounds for their children. Inside the park, Smith Lake features a boathouse that can be rented out for various events. Many people visit the park to sit amongst the fantastic flower gardens that punctuate the landscape. A total of 54 flowerbeds come together to replicate Martha Washington’s garden at Mt. Vernon.
Although Washington Park is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Denver, residents are never far from the modern amenities and conveniences they need, like Whole Foods Market on Washington Street. South Gaylord Street is lined with restaurants and shops, like Max Gill & Grill, Reivers Bar & Grill, and Washington Park Grille, which features one of Denver’s best Sunday brunches.
The Louisiana/Pearl RTD and University of Denver RTD light rail stations offer convenience connections for Washington Park homeowners in the southern part of the neighborhood, while the I-25 and Broadway station serves West Washington Park. From larger commercial retail centers to tiny corner stores, the Washington Park community offers residents easy access to everything they require.
There are so many reasons to consider calling Washington Park home! If you’re looking for a charming enclave with easy access to downtown Denver, Washington Park is the place to be.
